Once I know the dog is pregnant, I will
take a non-refundable deposit. This verifies the sincerity of
the prospective owner to add a puppy to their home. The order of
the deposits received determines the order of choice given.
Their dew
claws will have been removed when they are three days old. I
will do puppy testing at six weeks and a
wellness visit with the vet at which time they will be given
their first shot and worming.
Once I know the litter is pronounced healthy, you will be
invited to come and choose your puppy.
During your selection process, I will tell you a little bit
about each one. By this time I have been interacting with them 3
- 4 times a day. They will all have been well socialized and
temperament tested. You will by then have given me an idea of
what you are looking for in a puppy. Such criteria as desired
sex of dog, ages of your children if any, whether yours is an
active or quiet household, and what sport activities the dog
would eventually participate in with you etc. Together we will
find the best puppy to fit your family.
Once the selection is
made, we will set a date at eight weeks of age for you to pick
up your puppy. At that time I will need assurance that you have
made a vet appointment within 24 hours of picking up your puppy.
This is to confirm that you have received a
healthy dog. Some vets like to give the second shot at this
time.
